Obsession!

I had done a post a few months back about the under-appreciated music in 2010. I’ve decided that I’m going to make it a regular thing to post current obsessions. Sharing music interests is a great way not only to promote the artists but to widen your own musical tastes.

GaGa Gets Grungier: New Track Alert!

Lady GaGa released a remix of a track from Born This Way for Thierry Mugler‘s Men’s 2011 fashion show in Paris, courtesy of Nicola Formichetti. It’s titled “Scheiße” and it seems as if a majority of the song is in German. In case you’re unaware the title translates to “Shit” in English. This remix is not the version she will release on her album, which drops on May 23rd. It’s missing the chorus- just enough to keep us in suspense without ruining the surprise.  Listen here. They also created a video for it, which you can view here. Enjoy!

Early Release for Brit’s “Hold It Against Me”

A few days ago an early demo of the new Britney single leaked on the web. Many of those links are already dead so don’t waste your time. Britney further teased her fans by sharing the cover art early (see below) and, because she just “couldn’t wait any longer,” decided to share on her official website a link to the new single today. I have no idea how long this link will remain functional so you better click on it fast. This single will be officially released for purchase on iTunes at midnight tonight and will later trickle to other online stores and hard copy formats. If this song is any indicator, Britney’s seventh studio album will be very different from her previous work. With the help of producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin, both of whom have impressive discography, this album is a guaranteed club boomer come March. Watch out, GaGa! It’s Britney, b****.

Frankmusik’s New Year’s Gift

Okay. First, I want to thank the wonderful Electroqueer, who tweeted this glorious piece of information that I am also Hell bent on sharing. Frankmusik pulled a fast one on the internet. He tweeted a link to a free download site for a track entitled “Hurt You Again” expected to be on his new album. This is the full song, not a sample! Whether or not it will be the final cut to make the album is unknown and, really and honestly, who cares because it’s free music. GOOD free music.

And just because I love all of you so much I want to share his video for “The Fear Inside” in case you haven’t seen it yet.

Robyn: Body and Mind

You have to give Robyn credit where credit is due. Not only has she proven to reinvent her image repeatedly to stay on the radar, but she has learned to evolve with a changing music industry. Her most recent endeavor, Body Talk, is a perfect example of why she is capable of remaining fresh. First off, Robyn released the album in four installments. Body Talk, Pt. 1, Body Talk, Pt.2 and Body Talk, Pt. 3 are all EPs. The fourth and final piece is a collection of favorites from those three EPs, simply titled Body Talk.
